Bacteriophage Production and Purification Services

Bacteriophage are viruses infecting bacteria. Phage are known to be specific for E. coli, staphylococcus, and all bacterial genus. Most phage can grow to an infectious titer of 10¹⁰ to 10¹² plaque forming units per ml of culture.

VIRAPUR provides Armored DNA for PCR Assays
We can provide both RNA and DNA phage which can be used as armored controls in PCR assays.
The picture at the left shows a density gradient ultracenrifugation purification of a phage. The phage bands at the specific density in the cesium chloride gradient corresponding to its density. We have generated up to 100 milligrams protein of purified phage.
