Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV)

Our expert Adeno Associated Virus (AAV) production and purification team can work with you to generate a high titer purified AAV. We have extensive experience with producing AAV using a multi-plasmid transfection system followed by density ultracentrifugation and proprietary chromatography based methods. This process results in highly purified vector suitable for in vitro and in vivo studies.

• Clone your gene of interest in to AAV expression plasmid
• Scale up DNA plasmids for larger scale plasmid transfection
• Purify AAV at 10¹², 10¹³ or higher scales

Typically, AAV vector orders are completed within 3 to 4 weeks. The researcher can provide us with 1 -2 mg of highly purified AAV transgene DNA and 1 mg each of the AAV helper and capsid DNAs. As part of our DNA service, we can also produce your plasmids for you prior to transfection and at reasonable cost.

Most genes typically package to generate AAV vector preparations of 10¹² virus particles per ml or greater, but transgene size and potential toxicity may effect yield. Please call or email us for additional information. You can purchase our kits here.

VIRAPUR also sells an AAV purification kit which uses ion exchange technology similar to our adenovirus kits to purify the AAV virus. This quick and easy kit uses a membrane based method for lab purification of AAV serotypes 2 and 5 for up to 10¹² virus particles. We provide this kit in Single-Use and Three-Use formats.
